Keshet, an organization serv-
ing Jewish Families of Children
with Special Needs, will resume
their bi-weekly Parent Support
Group Series, 7:30 p.m. Janu-
ary 23. The support group will
continue on Feb. 6 and 20 and
March 6 and 20. All sessions
will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will
be held at the Keshet office con-
ference room, 30161 Southfield
Road, Southfield. Any parent of
a child with special needs is wel-
come to attend. There is no
charge for Keshet support
groups.
Keshet will been a series of
programs called "Office and
Conversation" to provide an op-
portunity for parents of children
with special needs to get to-
gether in an informal setting
and discuss common concerns.
The first program will be for
"Parents of Very Young Chil-
dren with Special Needs" (Ages
0-3 years). This session wil be
hosted by Lynne Tamor 7:30
p.m. January 26 in the Keshet
conference room.

Levine as executive director.

Elects Board
Yad Ezra, the agency that has
provided free packaged kosher
food to the Detroit Jewish com-
munity for the last four years,
recently elected the following
slate of officers for the 1994
term; Richard Barr, president;
Jeffrey Appel, Sanford Eisen-
berg, Jeffrey Adler, vice presi-
dents; Isadore Bernstein,
secretary/treasurer; and How-
ard Zoller, immediate past pres-
ident.

At Torah Study
Rabbi David Nelson, spiritual
leader of Congregation Beth
Shalom, will be the speaker at
the weekly Conservative Move-
ment Torah Study 12:30 p.m.
Jan. 27 at the Max M. Fisher
Building. Rabbi Nelson's talk,
"Tu B'Shevat Trot," will explore
the biblical awareness of ecolo-
gy and its contemporary signif-
icance.
In addition to his congrega-
tional responsibilities, Rabbi
Nelson has just been named
Oakland County Sheriffs chap-
lain; he continues to serve as a
chaplain for the Detroit and
Southfield police departments.
The Torah study session is
sponsored by the Detroit
Friends of the Jewish Theolog-
ical Seminary, the Michigan Re-
gion of the United Synagogue
and the Michigan Regional
Rabbinical Assembly.
Study sessions are held
every Thursday. There is no
charge for the class; lunch is
available for a charge, by reser-
vation, beginning at noon.

Goes Bowling
The Ahavah group (ages 40 and
above) of Congregation B'nai
Moshe will have an evening of
bowling 8 p.m. Jan. 29 at the
West Bloomfield Lanes, 6800
Orchard Lake Road, West
Bloomfield.
Following bowling, the group
will gather at the Ravitsky
home, 5770 Beauchamp Place
Drive, West Bloomfield, for
dessert.
