Adult Classes
In Talmud

Rabbi Rod Glogower, scholar-
in-residence at the Midrasha
Center for Adult Jewish Learn-
ing, will teach rabbinics for
adult learners in several differ-
ent formats during the upcom-
ing beginning Feb. 1. All the
classes will be held at the
Midrasha Center for Adult Jew-
ish Learning in the Agency for
Jewish Education building,
21550 West 12 Mile Road,
Southfield.
On Tuesday mornings from
10:30 a.m. to noon, starting Feb.
1, Rabbi Glogower will lead a
text study seminar titled "In-
side the Rabbinic Mind." This
course will meet for 16 sessions
and will explore various genres
of rabbinic literature. Reading
knowledge of Hebrew is helpful
but not required. Tuition for the
16-session course is $144. Stu-
dents may register for the en-
tire 16-session course or for a 4-
or 8-session "mini-semester" at
prorated tuition.
To accommodate adult learn-
ers who would like to study with
Rabbi Glogower but are unable
to take classes during the work
day, Midrasha will offer a five-
part Tuesday evening series
titled "Inside the Rabbinic
Mind: Purim and Passover."
Sessions will meet from 7:30 to
8:30 p.m. Feb. 15, 22, March 1,
8 and 15. Study format will put
a special emphasis on the holi-
days of Purim and Passover.
Students may register for the
entire five-part series or any one
or more of the sessions. Any one
session can be attended inde-
pendent of the others. Tuition
is $30 for the five-part series or
$6 per session. Reading knowl-
edge of Hebrew is helpful but
not required.

Torah Center
Events Set

Rabbi Elimelech Silberberg of
Bais Chabad Torah Center will
deliver a lecture 8:15 p.m. Jan.
24, at the Torah Center on the
Torah portion of the week. The
discussion will include a talk on
"Respecting In-Laws."
The Torah Center Sisterhood
in conjunction with the Lubav-
itcher Women's Organization
will present an evening of learn,
ing and entertainment will pre-
sent an evening of learning and
entertainment for women 6:30
p.m. Jan. 30 at the Torah Cen-
ter. Chaya Teldon of Chabad in
Commack, N.Y., will lead the
event.
