The Jewish Federation Busi-
ness and Professional Women's
Division will host Dr. Sabi
Shabtai, an authority on ter-
rorism and Middle East affairs,
and Marcy Feldman, president
of Resettlement Service, at two
gatherings on behalf of the Al-
lied Jewish Campaign.
Dr. Shabtai will address a
B & P Hatikvah Section din-
ner, which is open to contrib-
utors of a minimum of $500
to the 1994 Campaign, 6 p.m.
Nov. 30, at the home of Lau-
ren Liss.
Ms. Feldman, whose
agency has helped the Detroit
community absorb nearly
2,000 Jewish refugees from
the former USSR since 1990,
will be featured at a B & P
Rishon Section gathering 6
p.m. Dec. 2, at the home of
Jane Sherman.

tion Shaarey Zedek and Adat
Shalom Synagogue will hold a
joint dinner meeting and panel
discussion at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 6
at Adat Shalom.
Taking a look 'Through the
Looking Glass: Combining
Homemaking, Careers and
Voluntarism" will be three
panelists: Harlene Appelman,
Lynda Giles and Sherry Mar-
golis.
Harlene Winnick Appel-
man has been teaching, di-
recting and creating family
education programs for 10
years. In addition to her work
as director of education ser-
vices for the Agency for Jew-
ish Education, she is
presently the director of field
services for the Whizin Insti-
tute for the Family of the
University of Judaism and
the editor of Jewish Family
for Torah Aura Productions.
Lynda Giles is a clinical
psychologist in private prac-
tice in Bloomfield Hills. She
is an officer and serves on the
board of the Agency for Jew-
ish Education. As a leader of
JEFF, she created the Insti-
tute for Single Jewish Moth-
ers in Metropolitan Detroit.
Sherry Margolis came from
Buffalo to WJBK-TV2 Eye-
witness News team as a
weekday anchor in Septem-
ber of 1984. A spokesperson
for the Cystic Fibrosis Foun-
dation, she has also been in-
volved in fund raising for the
Mental Illness Research As-
sociation, Channel 56, the
Haven, Children's Miracle
Network, Children of Cher-
nobyl and Myasthenia
Gravis.
