Book Fair
The author of a new biography
of Raoul Wallenberg, the hero-
ic Swedish diplomat — and U-
M alum — who saved
thousands of Jews during the
Holocaust, will be the keynote
speaker for the Fifth Annual
Washtenaw County Jewish
Community Center Book Fair
8 p.m. Nov. 13 at the JCC.
Author Sharon Linnea will
talk about Raoul Wallenberg —
The Man Who Stopped Death,
a biography written for children
ages 10 and up.
A wine and cheese recep-
tion for JCC Book Fair pa-
trons will precede Ms.
Linnea's talk. Books will be
available for viewing and sale
after the lecture.
The Book Fair will contin-
ue 9 a.m. Nov. 14 with a
Bagels and Browse breakfast.
Seniors on Stage, a senior
play-reading group, will per-
form a Chelm play at 11 a.m.
Sandi Cooper will present
"No Need to Make a Tz-
immes: the Joys of Jewish
Cooking" at 1 p.m. Special en-
tertainment for children, pro-
vided by the Mask Puppet
Theater, followed by a book
crafts workshop, will begin at
2 p.m.
Ms. Linnea's talk and Sun-
day's Book Fair activities are
free and open to the public.
UJA Dinner
Hears Tauber
Pacesetters — thqse who have
made a "Pacesetter" gift to
Campaign ' 94 — will be hon-
ored at a gala Pacesetters' Din-
ner Dec. 5 at Washtenaw
Country Club.
The keynote speaker will
be Joel D. Tauber, the na-
tional chair of the United
Jewish Appeal. Mr. Tauber
will discuss implications of
the peace agreement.
Following a cocktail hour
and Mr. Tauber's talk, Pace-
setters will dine, dance and
be entertained by the music
of a new klezmer band. There
is a charge.
