"Funny, You Don't Look Jew-
ish" is the title of AJC's Odyssey
Group's November program,
scheduled 7:30 p.m. Nov. 18 at
the Birmingham Community
House. Jewish singles who are
thirty-something and interest-
ed in learning how to think
quickly and respond effectively
to anti-Semitic comments and
actions in the work place and in
the general community should
attend the program.
The evening's speakers in-
clude Adele Rapport, region-
al attorney for the U.S. Equal
Employment Opportunity
Commission; Avi Aharoni,
psychologist with A and E
Counseling of West Bloom-
field; and Sharona Shapiro,
Michigan area director of the
American Jewish Committee.
They will address how and
when to respond, when and
where to go for help.
Refreshments will follow
the program. There is a
charge and reservations may
be made by calling the AJC
office, 646-7686.

Young Adults
Plan Phonathon

Young men and women, mar-
ried and single, are invited to
join Jewish Federation Young
Adult Division volunteers in
reaching out to hundreds of
Detroiters at a phonathon on
behalf of the Allied Jewish
Campaign 6:30 p.m. Nov. 18
at the Max M. Fisher build-
ing.
Dinner and refreshments
will be available at the
phonathon. To volunteer or
for information about the Al-
lied Jewish Campaign, call

Reform Group
Sets Discussion

The Reform Breakfast and
Learn Study Group will meet
7:30 a.m. Nov. 16 at the Jewish
Federation building. Rabbi
Norman Roman of Temple Kol
Ami will lead the discussion on
conversion utilizing modern Re-
form Responsa.
A modest continental break-
