derful arms, will celebrate the
holiday season with a treasure

Fifth Avenue in Troy's Somer-
set Collection.
Shindig begins 6:30 p.m.,
with folks testing their knowl-
edge of movie trivia in search of
prizes . . . Chairpersons are
Olga and Iry Dworkin and Judy
and Ken Hale.

GOOD THINGS do come to
those who wait . as evidenced
by what has recently happened
to Nick Sorise and John Reaser,
owners of Wooden Horse on
Rochester Road in Troy, along
with their Nicky's restaurant.
Rather than take anybody,
Nick held the fort at Wooden
Horse while John took over at
Nicky's ... Now that they have
Shawn Stinson running things
at Nicky's, it was a waiting
game for Wooden Horse.
Galloping in is John Rugani,
formerly with Chuck Muer and
general manager and food and

beverage director of Bistro 75
in Auburn Hills, who has tak-
en over as GM at Wooden
Horse.
Also, heading the kitchen
now with his fresh and innova-
tive style is Ron Nicol, gradu-
ate of the Culinary Institute of
America in Hyde Park, N.Y.,
trained under Master Chef
Leopold Schaeli at Machus Red
Fox, with Keith Famie at the
former Les Auteurs, and a stal-
wart at Beverly Hills Grill.
The 140-year-old building
that houses Wooden Horse was
once a stagecoach stop, and is a
Troy historical site on Sylvan
Glen Golf Course . . . It opened
in 1992 with American recipes
that include rotisserie chicken,
ribs and foods with spicy south-
western flavor.
CONGRATS . . . to Bert
Gladstone ... on his 72nd birth-
day . . . to Bruce and Laura
Saperstein ... on their third an-
niversary . . . both occasions
celebrated the same night re-
cently at Excalibur restaurant
... to Mary Serra ... on her
birthday.
PRIMA DINER on 10 Mile,
off Evergreen and the North-
western Service Drive, has
opened . . . It was formerly
Denny's and Dimitri's Diner.
MARRIAGE FOR the first
time at age 53 must have done
something to Judge Ed Sosnick,
who only a week earlier had
finally tied the knot at home of
brother Bob and Susan Sosnick.
Ed was one of the big stand-
ing-ovation hits at the recent
Star Search fund-raiser by
Women's Bar — Oakland
County Region to benefit the
Cranbrook Schools Horizon-Up-
ward Bound program.
He wore a wig, mustache and
costume and was a smash
singing and dancing with Judge
Joan Young ... Ed and Darlene
were wed the Sunday before
and good friend Judge Barry
Howard did the ring thing the
next day. •
Emcee barrister Henry
Baskin represents a number of
show biz stars but can teach
them a thing or two when it
comes to doing magic ... Judge
Bryan Levy in white robe splin-
tered wood between two cement
blocks with his fast karate
chops.
Warren Pierce, one of the
best things to happen to local
media, is out of radio but now
into television . . . His show,
pretty much like it was on WJR
radio for years, is every Satur-
day and Sunday morning, 8
a.m. to 9 a.m., on Channel 2
... bucking cartoons for ratings
and beating them.
As lassie Conner Ferrick
Roth sang, Ed Gold re-
marked, "Henry has his
whole office working tonight"
... Also a fine attorney is
Hank's daughter, Dana, mar-
ried to Mel Fink.
Over 300 were in attendance
to raise dollars for Horizons-
Upward Bound programs that
help young people develop into
productive persons.
MEMBERS OF Perfection

GREETINGS FROM Har-
ry and Becky Weinstein in Seal
Beach, Calif. . . . with clipping
from the column of July 16,
1943 ... "Harry Weinstein, avi-
ation machinist mate, forwards
us a fine souvenir . . . The con-
trol stick handle of the plane in
which Maj. Joe Foss shot down
16 Zeros in the southwest Pa-
cific . . . Also two bullets taken
from Maj. Foss' plane which,
describes Harry, "Was so full of
Jap bullets, it came in sounding
like a pipe organ!" 111
