duction of Michigan Opera The-
atre's 23rd season.
Rossini's comic opera is
scheduled for six performances
only: Oct. 29 and 30 at 8 p.m.;
Oct. 31 at 6:30 p.m.; Nov. 3 at 1
p.m., and Nov. 5-6 at 8 p.m. Per-
formances are in Italian with
English Surtitles projected
above the stage.

Rep Theater
Opens Season
The Detroit Repertory Theatre
will open its 1993-94 season
Nov. 4 with The King of the
Kosher Grocers. The play is a
story about the transition of a
neighborhood store from a Jew-
ish-owned one to a black-owned
one.
The play will run every
Thursday through Sunday un-
til Dec. 31. Curtain times are
8:30 Thursday, Friday and Sat-
urday; 2 p.m and 7:30 p.m. on
