jn the wake of the tragic earth-
quake in India, the Jewish Fed-
eration is supporting the
American Jewish Joint Distri-
bution Committee's appeal for
contributions to assist in relief
efforts in the stricken area.
Donations will be used to
send desperately needed emer-
gency medical supplies to India,
where some 22,000 people died.
As the overseas arm of the
American Jewish community,
the Allied Jewish Campaign-
supported JDC is committed to
providing assistance to those in
need. Through previous non-
sectarian, humanitarian efforts,
JDC's Open Mailbox campaigns
have provided relief in El Sal-
vador, Mexico, Cambodia,
Ethiopia, Armenia and to the
displaced Kurds in Turkey.
Checks should be made out
to "JDC-India" and sent to: In-
dia Open Mailbox, JDC, 711
Third Avenue, New York, NY
