JCC Offers
Fall Classes

The fall dance curriculum for
adults and children is available
at the West Bloomfield and Oak
Park buildings of the Jewish
Community Center. The JCC
School of Dance schedule con-
sists of creative, pre-ballet, tap,
jazz, ballet, modern, ballroom,
street, belly dance, Country-
Western line, and Israeli
dancing.
The fall Art classes for
children and for adults includes:
jewelry making, ceramics, "Ex-
pressions through Art," "Art
with Mommy and Me," oil
painting, watercolor, drawing.
Special classes for JARC
students are available.
Computer classes for three,
four and five-year-olds are being
offered for the first time at
the JCC. This class meets
once a week for four weeks
and enrollment is limited to
four per session.
The theater curriculum by
Nancy Gurwin will be offered
at both buildings.
Bridge lessons for beginner
to intermediate students are
available starting in October at
Maple-Drake. This is an eight-
week curriculum and the course
fee includes the cost of an
Audrey Grant student work-
book.
Chess lessons and the Chess
Club will be in operation.
All classes are open to the
public. Registration is being
accepted now. Call Shirley
Siegal, 661-1000.

Space Offers
Support Groups

Space, a community service of
National Council of Jewish
Women, Greater Detroit Sec-
tion will sponsor the following
support groups.
Separated and divorced men
and women will meet 7:15-9:30
p.m. Oct. 4, 11, 18, 25 at the
Space Office. Pre-registration
is required; call 258-6606.
The Rainbows for All Chil-
dren support group will begin
a new nine-week support group
for children 5-15. Dates Oct 13,
20, 27, Nov. 3, 10, 17, 24, and
Dec. 1, 8 at the SPACE office.
Pre-registration is required.
A drop-in support group for
men and women who are
divorced, separated or widowed
will be held 7:15 p.m.-9:30 p.m.
Oct. 14, 21, 28 at the Space
office.
There will be a singles sym-
posium Oct. 26 from 7:30-10
p.m. at the Applebaum
Parenting Center. There will be
an opening speaker and a work-
shop format. Pre-registration is
required. ❑

Singles are welcome at our Rosh Hashanah Services.

We know that being single is a way of life
for a lot of people no matter what age they
are. And we know that in an all too
"coupled" world, a single can feel left out in
the cold.

Reform and Conservative Congregations of
the Metropolitan Detroit area.

This Rosh Hashanah evening service begins
our second annual series of monthly
services for Jewish singles. Subsequent
services will be held in selected Reform and
Conservative Congregations on Friday
evenings at 8:30 p.m., followed by an Oneg
Shabbat featuring a speaker and/or
program.
