Plan Services

Hazan Sasson Natan has been
hired to lead the Sephardic
Community in Saturday and
Sunday services. Sasson Natan,
under his father's tutelage,
began conducting High Holy
Day services at the age of
fourteen in Jerusalem. His
parents came to Israel from
Baghdad.
Hazan Natan and Rabbi
Solomon Maimon of Seattle will
conduct the High Hoy Days
services at the Zionist Cultural
Center, on West Ten Mile Road,
Southfield.
Rabbi Maimon is the rabbi
emeritus of Congregation Bikur
Holim in Seattle. Rabbi
Maimon is interested in helping
small Sephardic communities.
He will give a class, 6 p.m. Sept.
18 at the Zionist Cultural
Center.

Emanu-El
Selichot Dinner

The sisterhood of Temple
Emanu-El will present a
Selichot dinner 7:30 p.m. Sept.
11 at the temple. The evening
will begin with wine and hors
d'oeuvres followed by dinner.
After dinner, Rabbi Steinger,
Rabbi Bigman, Cantor Rose
and temple educator Ira J.
Wise will lead a Temple and
Traditions Treasure Hunt.
A brief Selichot service will
take place at 11 p.m. Reser-
vations for the dinner and
program must be made by
September 6.

Shabbat Set

Congregation Beth Achim will
hold a New Member Shabbat
Sept. 11 at the synagogue.
During the services, which
begin at 8:45 a.m., Rabbi
