Dr. Sheldon L. Brenner, 53, of
West Bloomfield, died Aug.
17. He was a pediatrician
with Children's Hospital
since 1972 and was named
chief of staff in 1990. He
helped supervise medical stu-
dent and resident educational
programs and helped develop
a cadre of ambulatory care
physicians devoted to educa-
tion, investigation and pedi-
atric health care delivery.
He was active in interna-
tional, national and state
organizations. He served on
committees of the Ambula-
tory Pediatric Association,
the Michigan Protection and
Advocacy Council, Michigan
Chapter of the American
Academy of Pediatrics and
the Department of Education
for the State of Michigan. He
graduated from the Chicago
College of Osteopathy in
1966.
He leaves his wife, Bonnie;
daughters and sons-in-law,
Holly and Daniel Gross of
Saline, Melissa and Mark
Mandel of San Diego; son,
Andrew of Tucson, Ariz.;
mother, Helen of Southfield;
sister and brother-in-law,
Elaine and Art Rosenblat of

homicide for Wayne County.
He was a member of com-
mittee to counsel to state bar
commissioners; Detroit Bar
Association Special Criminal
Law Committee; Oakland
and Detroit Bar Associations;
Jewish War Veterans; Mili-
tary Order of Purple Heart;
Disabled American Veterans.
He also belonged to the
American Arbitration Associ-
ation, American Judicature
Society, the Cotillion Club of
Detroit, Senior Judges Asso-
ciation and Mediation Tri-
bunal Association.
He leaves his wife, Jennie;
daughters and sons-in-law,
Carol Kent and Fred Gluck-
son of Waterford, Beverly
Kent and Michael Golden-
berg of Huntington Woods;
brother and sister-in-law,
Harry and Sarah Keywell;
