Music School
Sets Season

The University of Michigan
School of Music has set its
schedule of productions for
the new season.
The Rogues' Trial, by
Ariano Suassuna, will be
staged Oct. 14-24, at
Trueblood Theatre.
Quilt, A Musical Celebra-
tion will be performed Oct.
21-24 at Lydia Mendelssohn
Theatre.
Dialogues des Carmelites is
set for Nov. 11-14 at Power
Center.
The Lion and the Jewel by
Wole Soyinka takes the stage
Nov. 18-21 at Lydia Mendels-
sohn Theatre.
The Butterfingers Angel,
Mary & Joseph, Herod the
Nut, & the Slaughter of 12 Hit
Carols in a Pear Tree by
William Gibson will be per-
formed Dec. 2-5 at Power
Center.
In the Spirit of Diaghilev
will be done by the Company
Feb. 3-6 at Power Center.
Major Barbara, by George
Bernard Shaw, is the produc-
tion for Feb. 10-13 at Lydia
Mendelssohn Theatre.
The School of Music Opera
Theatre will announce a pro-
duction for March 24-27 at
Lydia Mendelssohn Theatre.
The Heidi Chronicles will
be seen March 31-April 10 at
Trueblood Theatre.
The Most Happy Fella,
music and lyrics by Frank
Loesser, will end the season
April 14-17 at Power Center.

The Southfield Parks and
Recreation Cultural Arts
Division will present the Dick
Morrow Orchestra in the
Southfield Concerts in the
Parks Series 7 p.m. Aug. 22 at

Town Center. Concertgoers
should bring lawn chairs or
blankets.

Comic Opera
Comes To Fisher

Canadian director and
choreographer Brian Mac-
Donald will make his
Michigan Opera Theatre
debut this fall staging the
comic antics of the world's
most notorious barber, Figaro,
and his frieneds in Rossini's
