"My Parents, Grandparents, 2 Aunts
and 2 Uncles All Got Their Mortgages
From World Wide Financial!"

question me about what
I was thinking about
doing in the future," Mr.
Saperstein says. "There
were always a bunch of
things I was thinking
about. But as soon as I
mentioned law, the ques-
> tioning stopped. In the
long run, I'd like to work
for government. They
don't feel fabulous about
that. There's a lot of
pressure to work for a
law firm in Los Angeles."
Mr. Zide, a movie
enthusiast since child-
hood, ditched his legal
books for a job with New
Line Cinema. With a
finance degree in hand,
he made coffee for execu-
tives and did other
grunge work for meager
pay.
Today, Mr. Zide has
moved up the cutthroat
entertainment industry's
ladder. He works in the
special projects depart-
ment at International
Creative Management,
one of the world's largest
talent agencies.
Though he hasn't yet
realized his ultimate
dream of becoming an
agent, he has taken steps
toward that end by dis-
covering Robert Rod-
riguez, the writer and
director of the movie El
Mariachi, and Gregory
Howard, who is writing-a
screenplay for Columbia
Pictures about a Negro
baseball league.
Some parents, like
Raymond Horenstein of
Farmington Hills, say
they don't gauge success
by their progeny's specif-
ic choice of profession,
but rather by their dili-
gence and productivity.
Kari, one of Mr.
Horenstein's two college-
age daughters, agrees.
"I don't think we're pres-
sured by our parents," said
Kari, who is transferring
from MSU to the
University of Michigan,
Dearborn. A sophomore,
Kari is not sure what
major she will choose.
"They just want us to do
the best we can." 0
