Chaim Herzog
Is Hospitalized

Tel Aviv (JTA) — Former
President Chaim Herzog,
who retired earlier this mon-
th after 10 years in office,
was admitted to a hospital
this weekend for - an upper
respiratory tract infection.
The spokesman for Sheba
Hospital at the Tel
Hashomer government
medical center in Ramat
Gan said that Mr. Herzog
was recovering and would be
sent home within a day or so,
after tests were completed.
Meanwhile, Jerusalem
Mayor Teddy Kollek was
sent home from a Jerusalem
hospital after being ad-
mitted last week for chest
pains.
After initially saying the
cause was fatigue, hospital
officials said the mayor had
been treated for a bronchial
infection.
