ichigan Opera
Theatre's seventh
annual Opera Ball
is April 30 at the
Detroit Athletic Club. This
year's "Triumphal" Opera
Ball, named after the Trim-
phal march of opera heroine
Aida, will include a silent
and live auction.
Mr. and Mrs. Gary
Wasserman serve as
assistants to the general
chairmen, Mr. and Mrs.
William Vittoe, Mr. and
Mrs. Robert Hurst and Dr.
and Mrs. Donald Austin.
Chrysler Corporation will
underwrite the event and
donate the recently unveiled
Chrysler LHS for the live
auction. Another auction
item is a day working on the
railroad at Coe Rail.

ART SHOW

He is best known for his
animated cartoon, the Crun-
ch Bird, which won an Acad-
emy Award. Now West
Bloomfield resident Ted
Petok will display his short
subject cartoons, commer-
cials, paintings and
segments for Sesame Street
at the West Bloomfield In-
side Art Show, April 23 - 25
at the Crosswinds Mall.
On sale will be original
drawings from Mr. Petok's
25 short animation films.
Also on sale will k e work
from other Jewish artists,
including Lou Zales of
Chicago, who mixes whim-
sical themes with photogra-
phy; Jewish image painter
Ari Gradus of Brooklyn;
and Carol Berhorst of
Bloomfield Hills, who

designs decorative pottery
pieces.
The art show comes to
West Bloomfield courtesy of
N Squared Productions,
owned by local art show pro-
ducers Nancy Blechman
Clark and Nanci Einstein.

FASHION NOTES

The Myasthenia Gravis
Association will hold a fash-
ion show from the Somerset
Collection noon April 24 at
the Grand Manor in
Fairlane. The guest celebri-
ty is Sherry Margolis,
WJBK Channel 2 anchor.
New York tailor Martin
Greenfield will greet and
work with customers April
24 at a Neiman Marcus
trunk show. Mr. Greenfield
is President Clinton's tailor
and produces Marcus
clothing for men, all made in
America.
Celebrity photographer
Linda Solomon will sign
her new book American Pho-

tographers at the Turn of the
Century, People and Our
World beginning at noon

April 24 at Jacobson's in
Birmingham. On May 7, the
Jewish Community Center
will have and exhibit and
book signing for her.

and will showcase more than

The Chron's & Colitis
Foundation of America will
present their fifth annual
fashion show 11:30 a.m. May
7 at the Ritz Carlton Hotel
in Dearborn with fashions
from Saks Fifth Ave., Troy.
