WONDERFUL WALKS

Beginning this weekend,
walkers throughout the
country will raise money for
important causes. The Race
for Cure, a 5K race walk or
walk for breast cancer
research at the Michigan
Cancer Foundation, takes
place at the Detroit Zoo. This
is a special walk for Sherry
Medsker of Franklin, who
learned about the race
through the founder, Nan-

Sherry Medsker

cy Brinker. Ms. Medsker
met her while she was in
Texas undergoing treatment
for breast cancer.
Ms. Medsker is raising
awareness about the disease
through her active support.
"I want to be active and help
find a cure for the disease."
Some other supporters in-
clude: Ann Zousmer, Carol
Lifton, Carole Sue Coden,
Lois Granader, Susan
Knoppow and David
Saperstein.
On April 18, Shelly
Jackier, Scott Eisenberg
and Kim Lifton will do
their yearly 18-mile walk for
multiple sclerosis in Birm-
ingham.
Amanda Foster, 6, who
was recently diagnosed with
juvenile diabetes, will lead a
team from her father's
Southfield podiatric office in
