This year's dress-for-success
pantsuits have taken the
starch out of the old '80s
power suit and injected
femininity and ease. Hard-
edged lapels, broad shoulders
and starched pants creases
have given way to cleaner
lines and softer fabrics. And
the fussy blouse makes way
for the contemporary sliver
of a tank or bodysuit.

Photographed by Joe Comick. Styled by Sum
Boddiford.

stands
its ground at a power lunch. Giorgio
Armani linen jacket and slim trouser,

enue; De Vecchi bag, at Neiman Mar-
cus; Matte gold cuffs and earrings,
both at Ann Taylor. Yves Saint Lau-
rent slingback shoes, at Roz and
Sherm.
