16 oz. can stewed
tomatoes, un-drained
3 tablespoons chili
powder or to taste
1 teaspoon prepared
chopped garlic
1 teaspoon dried basil or
oregano
salt and pepper to taste \
If turkey is frozen, defrost in
microwave at Medium for
minutes. (Cut into chunks!
after 6 minutes). Heat oil inI
large pot. Add turkey, onion
and celery and saute for 5)
minutes. Add all remaining
ingredients and bring to sim-
mer. Cover and continue sim-
mering for 15 to 20 minutes,
stirring often. Spoon over hot
toasted garlic buns.

powder and paprika. Toast

LEMON-BROILED FISH
WITH WHOLE
MUSHROOMS
Packages of frozen troue,
perch or haddock are perfect
for this.
12-16 oz. package fish
fillets (perch, haddock)
or 4 trout (12 oz. each),
pan-dressed, ready to /
cook
1/2 teaspoon salt
fresh ground pepper
2 teaspoons dried parsley
1 /4 cup fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons olive oil
paprika
8 oz. can whole
mushrooms, drained
Preheat broiler. Defrost fish
in microwave according to
package directions. Place in
broiling pan and sprinkle
with salt, pepper and parsley,
For trout, sprinkle inside cav
ities. Drizzle with lemon juice
and olive oil. Broil 6-inches
from broiler heat for 4 min-
utes. Arrange mushrooms
around, sprinkle with pap-
rika and broil 2 to 3 minutes
longer. Fish is ready when
flakes separated with knife
are opaque all the way
through.
Note: Whole trout is thicker
than fillets so cooking time
must be increased. Broil 5 to
6 minutes on each side. Tes
for doneness as above. Serves
