da can thank the for-
mer Scotch 'n Sirloin
on Northwestern Highway
and Greenfield for a matchup
that years later brought folks
there a touch of home.
Then again, localite Yale
Upfall can take much of the
credit, too . . . He was Diana
Barron's date at the Scotch in
1972 when she met Randy
Fenkell, a builder of subdivi-
sions in Milford.
Didn't take long . . . three
weeks . . . and Diana and
Randy were married . . . mov-
ing to Florida 19 years ago.
Diana had worked at Edjo's
owned by Boris Greisdorf and
Eddie Shay and the Inner
Circle . . . When she met Ran-
dy, Diana was bartending at

Diana was the first Jewish
girl in the Bartender's
Association in Michigan.
What has all this to do with
a popular restaurant in the
Lake Worth area where
Detroiters and ex-Detroiters
like to congregate, eat good
food and meet others from
back home? . . . Plenty,
because restaurant ex-
perience is coupled with a
firm togetherness in bringing
about this popular place to
dine in Florida while pro-
viding a "hello" spot for guys
and gals from hereabouts.
Diana and Randy Fenkell
began Randy's Ribs in 1980,
down the block from its pre-
sent location . . . Then, after
retiring and being closed 3%
years, opened again last
August at 4828 Lake
Worth Road bei,.-.-een Florida
Turnpike and Military Trail
in Greenacres, (407) 439-3400.
When they closed shop,
Diana and Randy had Ran-
dy's Ribs operations in Lake
Worth, North Palm Beach
and West Ft. Lauderdale .. .
Now that they are back in the
swing of things again . . . it's
no more mini-chains for them
to run . .. with concentration
strictly on the present single
locale seating 170 in five
rooms . . . Randy, son of the
