Zionist Family will pre-
sent an afternoon of
Yiddish, Russian, English
and Hebrew songs 2 p.m.

The guest performer
will be Irina Mishura-
Lekhtman. Ms. Lekhtman
came to Detroit from
Kishinev, Moldavia. She
has studied at the Moscow
Gnesin State Music
Institute. She has initiat-
ed a Jewish TV program
in Moldavia.
Accompanying Ms.
Leikhtman will be Zina
Astrakhan. Ms. Astrak-
han, a graduate of the
Leningrad Conservatory,
has worked as accompa-
nist for vocal artists as
well as string and choral
groups.
There will be no charge
for admission.

Stages Premiere
The Purple Rose Theatre
Company will present the
Michigan premiere of
Velina Hasu Houston's
new drama, Necessities, as
the second production of
the 1992-93 season.
Regular performances
will continue through
March 7. Performances
will be held Wednesday
through Saturday even-
ings at 8 p.m. with Sun-
day shows at 2 p.m. and 7
p.m.
All performances are at
the Purple Rose Theatre
Company's Garage Theat-
