was a great way to meet peo-
ple. And football teaches you
about honor, respect, dignity,
discipline, as well as working
toward a common goal."
An example Farbman cites
was the lack of weight lifting
on the team during his first
year, the 1-8 season. Now,
"just about everyone lifts,"
and the result has been solid
team unity during the suc-

Farbman also is active at
Cranbrook as the student
council representative for the
senior class, a member of the
judiciary committee, and as a
varsity lacrosse player.

Other Jewish members of
the football team include Ja-
son Eddleston and Dan Stoll-
man, along with assistant
coach Gary Gerson. ❑

ball is not foremost on the
agenda, and education is."
And that is exactly what
Farbman wants.
Farbman's interest in foot-
ball was sparked by his older
brother David. He brought
out Andy's "competitive" in-
stincts at a very young age
with many spirited battles at
home.
Andy followed up with foot-
ball at Cranbrook because "it
