Yeshivah Zevihel
A reception in honor of Rab-
bi Gedalya Moshe Goldman,
head of the Yeshivah Zevihel
of Jerusalem, will take place
8 p.m., Nov. 10 at the Jewish
Community Center on Ten
Mile Road.
The evening is sponsored by
former students of the
yeshiva, which was establish-
ed almost 100 years ago in
Russia.
Asa Shapiro will chair the
evening and introduce Rabbi
Goldman and guest speakers,
including Rabbi Baruch
Korff, associated with Brown
University in Providence,
R.I., and Rabbi Shmuel Irons,
rosh Kollel in Detroit.
Refreshments will be serv-

Torah Study
On Thursdays
Rabbi William Gershon will
teach the Nov. 12 Torah Study
sponsored by the Conser-
vative Movement. The study
session will focus on Parshat
Vayera, Genesis 18-22. Par-
ticipants are encouraged to
bring traditional and contem-
porary commentaries to share
in the group discussion.
Open to the community at
large, the study session is
from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. every
Thursday in the Butzel Con-
ference suite at the Jewish
Federation building. Lunch is
available at noon for a charge.

Discovery Room
Open at JCC
The Discovery Room: A
Jewish Experience is located
at the Maple-Drake Jewish
Community Center. This
mini-museum is for children
ages 3-7 to learn Jewish
history, customs, values,
holidays, traditions and Israel
through a hands-on ex-
perience.
The room is open Sunday,
10 a.m.-3 p.m.; Monday 9:30
a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 1-4 p.m.;
Tuesday and Wednesday, 9:30
a.m.-12:30 p.m.; Thursday
4:30-7:30 p.m.
