Trays for all events have also
become quite large.
People having lunch or din-
ner within the quaint
Vineyards Cafe & Catering
walls are treated to home-
made American, Mideastern,
Jewish and delicatessen
varieties.
Its weekly specials have
gone over so big that vendors
are now almost clamoring for
Ron to give their products a
chance . . . Quite a change
from those early days when
company salespeople used to
look upon a Vineyards shop
as a low rung on their
business ladder . . . This
should teach many salesper-
sons a very important facet of
consumer relations . . . you
never know!
Not only have Ron, Maggie
and Shirlee gained fine
reputations but they are also
maintaining that most
valued Asmar trait . . . hav-
ing customers become friends.
From the outside it looks
like a little party store, but
my, how deceiving this place
is . . . Being built on an angle
has much to do with it .. .
There's a lot more to
Vineyards Cafe & Catering
than meets the eye . . . even
inside with its large expanse.
Ron and Maggie Asmar and
Shirlee Bloom, along with
some fine employees, are
bringing people back with a
10-letter word . . . confidence
. . . something that no money
in the world can buy.
MAUREY PASTOR, Las
Vegas correspondent for the
column, sends news about son
Herb Pastor, graduate of
Mumford High and Michigan
State U., who recently ap-
peared on TV's "Hard Copy"
and will now be nationally
featured on "Lifestyles of the
Rich and Famous" being
aired Nov. 6.
Maurey writes that "Life-
styles" will present interiors
and exteriors from Herb and
wife Kathy's home, together
with some of the executive
staff at his business enter-
prises, including the world-
famous "Girls of Glitter
Gulch" lounge in Downtown
Vegas, slot casinos, etc.
OPERA NIGHT at Sul-
tan's, Orchard Lake Road and
14 Mile, will have a new look
7 p.m. Nov. 2 . . . It'll be put
on by Opera Lite of Michigan
1) with Barbara Youngerman,
mezzo soprano; Paul Wiltiese,
tenor; and Kevin Byisma,
piano.
THEY'RE BEING called
"The Golden Girls" by
Women of Jewish National
Fund, who'll honor volunteer
gals with 40 to 50 years' ser-
vice, 12 noon, Nov. 3, at Tem-
ple Emanu-El . . . Family and
friends are invited . . . For

more info, call Frieda Berke
at JNF, 557-6644.
YOUNG FOLKS aren't left
out anymore when it comes to
staying with parents at hotels
like Holiday Inn of Farm-
ington Hills on W. 10 Mile .. .
Mom and dad play a sort of se-
cond fiddle at the new "Just
For Kids" club . . . The pro-
gram is intended to give
parents a chance to relax,
while youngsters 4 to 12 en-
joy supervised fun with oodles
of games . . . There's plenty
mom and pop can also do but
the "Just For Kids" club is
time for some serious fun by
the youngsters.
