The Michigan Board of Rab-
bis, in cooperation with The
Jewish News, will co-sponsor
its first annual series of
monthly singles Shabbat ser-
vices. Each month, a different
congregation will host a ser-
vice, followed by an Oneg
Shabbat and program.
The first service will be 8:30
p.m. Nov. 6 at Temple Israel.
Dr. Sonya Friedman will
speak after services. Dr.
Friedman is a clinical
psychologist.
The schedule of singles
shabbat services is: Dec. 11,
Shaarey Zedek; Jan. 15, Tem-
ple Kol Ami; Feb. 12, B'nai
Moshe; March 12, Temple
Shir Shalom; April 9, Beth
Abraham Hillel Moses; May
14, Temple Beth El; June 11,
Adat Shalom. Each service
will begin at 8:30 p.m.

Foundation of Metropolitan
Detroit named Rita and John
Haddow as the honorary
chairpersons for their annual
fund-raiser, the Evening of
Brilliance, 7 p.m. Nov. 13 at
the Ritz Carlton — Dearborn.
Honorary chairpersons are
Kenneth Meade of the Meade
Group and Valeria and
Donald Boltz of the Bortz
Health Care Facilities. With
the theme of the dinner
"Make Diabetes Disappear,"
magical favors and magicians
will be featured.
