A WEEKEND ADVENTURE DESIGNED
WITH THE FAMILY IN MIND

Introducing .. .

"Just For Kids" Club!

This is why so many people
are eternally grateful to per-
sons like Leslie Colburn, a
trustee at Children's
Hospital, whose recent invite
to join him and his family was
a very enlightening one for so
many . . . The dedication of
Children's Hospital's newly
expanded and renovated
facilities housing the wonder-
ful Phyllis Ann Colburn
Memorial Library opened a
lot of eyes.
The large throng went in
groups on a tour of the
private, non-profit hospital's
new section, had hors
d'oeuvres, wine, music and
dinner . . . But the big thing
was seeing Children's
Hospital as it is now . . . So
bright and cheerful that you
didn't think any of the little
tots were sick until peeking
into some of the rooms .. .
then your heart tore out and
you held back tears.
It's nice that parents can
come see their children at all
hours of the day . . . Must
work wonders . . . And that
brothers and sisters, some
who have never seen their lit-
tle family relatives because
the kiddies haven't been able
to come home yet, will also
soon have big visitation
opportunities.
Being escorted by cordial
members of the medical staff
on short tours of Children's
Hospital with such advanced
technology, its new Am-
bulatory Care Center and the
fine Phyllis Ann Colburn
Memorial Library, was a mov-
ing experience for many who
no doubt went home and gave
their youngsters a great big
extra kiss.
Thank heavens for
Children's Hospital . . . and
people like Leslie Colburn.

since Helen and the late Paul
Zuckerman formed that im-
pressive group of community
leaders who shared their
dedication in the fight
against cancer.
Over $1.2 million since
then, the Angels of Michigan
Cancer Foundation are in-
ching closer to Helen and
Paul's hope . . . the control
and even prevention of cancer.
Next Angels' event is a
black-tie fund-raising gala,
Nov. 21, at the Talon Centre,
Stroh River Place in Detroit
. . . It'll be the "Evening of
Elegance" with food by Jim-
my Schmidt and the Rat-
tlesnake Club which is also at
Stroh River Place, and music
of the Mark Phillips
Orchestra.
This will be a most unusual
type of affair with cocktails at
7 p.m. in Randolph Agley's
corporate office suite prior to

Talon chairman, CEO,
longtime MCF supporter and
presently chairman of the
foundation's board of trustees.
Proceeds from the event will
