Azar's Oriental Rugs in
Birmingham will hold a lec-
ture, video and reception on
Oct. 2 at 7:30 at their store
with George Jevremovic,
the creator of Azeri carpets.
These carpets are famous for
their palette of natural dyes.
Mr. Jevremovic is working
on a video documenting his
weaving projects in Turkey,
as well as a book about
Turkish carpets.

JEWELRY AWARD
Sharon Gornbein of
Southfield won first place in
Modern Jeweler magazine's
design competition and will
be honored with the 1992
Buyer's Choice Award. Her
jewelry designs are under
the name Sharon G, and she
will be featured in the Oc-
tober issue of Modern
Jeweler. Her jewelry design
partner is her husband,
Norman Gornbein. The
Sharon G line is available at
