We're Making It Easier To See Us.
Announcing The GRAND OPENING
Of Our New Office and Optical Shop
and take in the smells and
sights.
During one free time, the
MSTY fund-raisers commit-
tee sold cans of whipped
cream for a whipped cream
fight.
We would be called to din-
ner by a loud bell that rested
on top of the lodge. All meals
were served family-style. Din-
ner would be followed by the
evening service.
There were a variety of
evening programs. For one,
we were broken up into
groups and assigned to define
' --what a Jew was, and then pre-
_ sent our idea to the group in
any form we liked. Another
program dealt with televi-
sion's effect on children.
This was the first MSTY
conclave of the year and it
made a good impression on
newcomers. One said, "I'm
glad I joined MSTY. The con-
clave was great." Mike Cooper
of Southfield was also en-
thusiastic. "I thought it was
exciting. I wouldn't change a
Veteran MSTYites were
also excited. "MSTY is the
only place that I come to
° where I am able to be open
and be myself," said Cara
Wenig of Troy. Adi Paliti of
Berkley explained, "I've ex-
perimented with quite a few
other groups, but there are
none that can match the
camaraderie, the experiences,
or the warm, fuzzy feelings
that one gets in MSTY"
During the friendship cir-
cle, when everyone reflected
on the conclave, three college
freshman strummed the
guitar for what could be their
last time at a MSTY conclave.
Brian Frank and Jeff
Rosenberg of East Lansing
and Jessie Levine of Oak
Park had already been to
their final conclave as
MSTYites, but they decided
to come back with their
melodies one last time. And,
as the buses pulled away,
Jessie Levine had some par-
ting words about MSTY as a
whole:
"MSTY is such a unique
place because, almost in-
variably, everyone who comes
is affected and even changed.
My time in MSTY will also be
cherished because I know
that I emerged a different,
happier, and much more
fulfilled person." II
