A Tribute to Frieda Rose Barris
September 28, 1929
February 6, 1992

Whenever the words "unconditional love"
come to mind, their true meaning paint a clear
and colorful picture of you, Mom.
You loved and never displayed hate. You always
had something to say but your words never ex-
pressed anger.

You empathized with others, and always express-
ed concern. You appreciated all that life had to
offer and everything that you had received.
You forever orchestrated conversation, drawing
everyone in and never leaving anyone out.
You only saw sunshine behind the clouds in the
sky. And your presence brought joy and hap-
piness to all those around you.

Your friends became your family and your fam-
ily, your friends.

You were the best wife to Dad, daughter to Bub-
bie and Zadie, Mother to Susie, Leanie, Ellie,
Larry and Joel, sister to Janet and Nanny to Ryan,
Aaron and Daniel.

You were much, much more than a human be-
ing. You represented the good things to us: love,
honesty and compassion, and most of all, life
itself.

You were a priceless piece of artwork that we
carefully placed on a pedestal . . . beautifully
sculptured and we were always so proud to show
you off.

Although you were with us for 62 years,
somehow that just doesn't seem long enough.
You have been our family, best friend and in-
spiration, teacher and number one role model.
Thank you for everything you have given to us.
We love you; we miss you, and you will always
be to us, MORE THAN LIFE ITSELF.
With Love,
Your daughters,
Susie Cohen, Leanie Gunsberg and Ellen Barris
