Bruce Cameron.
The open ceiling with its
large spinnaker drape pre-
sented a striking setting as
three long, custom-made con-
, temporary chandeliers
brought much attention .. .
Each of the fixtures in
Buster's Bay's main dining
room has a stainless steel fish
head suspended by copper
tubing with a slew of colorful
fish lures and abstract glass
fish figures dancing down the
spine.
Lorraine and Marty Blanck
married 46 years and still
holding hands . . . her right
only, though . . . Lorraine was
in an arm cast after tripping
outdoors recently, fracturing
the little finger and breaking
a few small bones in her left
hand . . . Larry Gaynor, Sue
and Leo Knight, John Bloom,
Lucille and Harvey Weisberg,
Marty and Cis Kellman, Ruth
Schwartz, Stuart Blanck .. .
Rattlesnake Club's wine som-
melier Madeline Triffon open-
ing a bottle of choice vino for
Sydell and Doug Schubot .. .
Those three bees on Sydell's
left shoulder were real .. .
n real jewelry, that is.
Theda Schefman, residen-
tial interior decorator respon-
sible for much of the decor at
Tres Vite, saying, "The next
time around, I want to be tall
with a body like that" as she
pointed to a shapely young
lass. "My face I'll keep,"
Theda added . . . Her
daughter, Christine Schef-
man, is Jimmy Schmidt's
right hand gal . . . Achille
Bianci of Too Chez; Elia
Nicholas of E.G. Nick's; Lesli
Johnson listening so atten-
tively with hubby Dave to the
rhythms of Eric Brandon and
his trio . . . Leslie and Eric
are sister and brother.
If Buster's Bay has more
employees like waitress Mary
Gardner, it can't miss . . . so
sweet, personable, accom-
modating, thoroughly effi-
cient and smiling . . . Also,
waiter Theo Bageris who us-
ed to manage the former
Aristocrat in Crosswinds
Mall.
A lot of imaginative decor
gives Buster's Bay a transfor-
mation many never thought
could be done in this place.

DISA 'N DATA . . . Norm's
Oyster Bar on Franklin off
Northwestern has a new sole
owner . . . It's Tony Brown,
who now also owns Salvatore
Scallopini at far end of the
building . . . New executive
chef at Novi Hilton in Novi is
Dean George, Culinary In-
stitute of America grad whose
new menu development is
part of the hotel's $3 million
renovation program.
Concert series starts this

Monday at Johnny Magnum's
on Grand River when the
Chuch Muer restaurant,
general managed by his
daughter Susan Muer, begins
its jazz and big band evenings
on the otherwise closed Mon-
days . . . July 20 and Aug. 17

merce in Walled Lake . . . He
also helps Bonnie LePage
with her parties in the lower
level . . . Jeff formerly was at
Truffles, Van Dyke Club and
Whitney.
Photo booth from Kresge's
on Livernois in the '50s, with
strip of four black and white
photos 25 cents, is now at
Marvin's Marvelous Mechan-
ical Museum on Orchard
Lake Road . . . It's 42 years
later but Marvin Yagoda gets
just $1 for the four pics .. .
"Culinary Extravaganza" by
Schoolcraft College Founda-
tion is set for Sept. 20, 2 to 5
p.m., with over 50 restaurants

tastes . . . $30 ticket will fund

ly Enerson is the new con-
ference service manager in
charge of banquets and cater-
ing at Hotel Baronette in
Novi . . . The catering opera-
tion now has a summer bar-
b-que menu available for its
75-person outdoor patio.
AND SO ANOTHER Bud-
dy's Pizza joins the fast-
growing chain as its Dear-
born location is opened . .
It's the first Buddy's built
from the ground up and
becomes number six full-
service operations to go with
three carry-out-only stores.
Many more than expected
overcrowded the new Buddy's
Pizza on Michigan as nor-
thwest friends galore of
Robert, Billy and Shirlee
Jacobs packed the new spot
with its windows all around
in a showpiece of colorful
decor.
Hip replacement couldn't
keep Jimmy Coleman away,
plus brother Nat and sister-
in-law Doris Coleman; Morrie
Firestone at home with op-
tical office in the new Buddy's
back yard; Roslyn and Al
Glantz, Jim Grossman,
Mickey Fishman, Joe Feder,
