Israel Election
Via Satellite

Up-to-the-minute results of
the Israeli elections will be
seen in English via satellite ,
from Jerusalem 7:30 p.m. j
June 23 at the United '-
Hebrew Schools Auditorium.
Sponsored by the Israel
Desk of the Jewish Federa-
tion of Metropolitan Detroit,
the Jewish Community Coun-o
cil and the Detroit Zionist
Federation, the live reports
will air just hours after the
polls have closed all over
Israel. In addition, viewers
also will be able to participate °
via conference call to a Na-
tional Jewish Community
Relations Advisory Council
panel, which will discuss the
impact of the elections on cur-
rent issues, including the
peace process and the United
States-Israeli relationship.
Hebrew speakers also will
be able to keep on top of the
Israeli election process by
watching Israel Election
Watch 1992, a series of one-
hour programs in Hebrew, 4
p.m. every Sunday on Con-
tinental Cablevision's Chan-
nel 11 (Oak Park, Southfield
and West Bloomfield) through
June 28.

Jewish Law
Is Program Topic

The next installment of
Contemporary Halachah, a
bi-weekly class which
discusses topics of current
events in the light of Jewish
law, will meet 7:30 p.m. June
29 at the home of Miriam
Huffstutter, Oak Park.
The topic presented by Rab-
bi Herschel Finman will be
"Videos ; DNA Finger-
printing, Polygraphs and
other modern forms of 'D
evidence."
The lecture is open to the
public and is free of charge.

Machon Plans
Torah Program

A new lunchtime Torah con-
ference program for profes-
sionals and business persons
in the Livonia area is being
planned noon June 30 in the
Shelden Center, 33115
Plymouth Rd.
The program, which will in-
clude a deli sandwich lunch,
will be followed by a lecture.
There will be a fee to cover
the lunch expenses; reserva-
tions will be required. For in-
