CHILDREN'S
MENU, TOO.

mains the largest in the Bud-
dy's chain . . . and now pro-
bably the prettiest.
\ It is with a great deal of
credit that Bob, Bill and
Shirlee Jacobs have been able
to stylize the Northwestern
Highway location without los-
ing track of what Buddy's has
been . . . a good, solid family-
dining restaurant . . . The
continual additions to the
Buddy's menu and renova-
tions on Northwestern are a
healthy sign of sincere
progressiveness.
Buddy's Pizza on North-
western and Middlebelt in
Farmington Hills not only
has the look of success but
also possesses this always
very much desired outcome in
the fulfillment of customer
satisfaction . . . No restaurant
could ask for more.
OKAY, PARENTS, here's a
chance to show off your
talented youngsters . . . Annie
auditions by Nancy Gurwin
Productions for children only
are June 14 and 21 from 2
p.m. . . . Adults only (singers,
dancers, actors), June 15, 7
p.m. . . . All auditions will be
at the West Bloomfield
Jewish Community Center
on Drake where Annie takes
the stage from Sept. 12, 8:15
p.m. . . . For more audition in-
fo and appointment, call Nan-
cy at 352-2797 or 354-0545.
CONGRATS . . . to Harry
Meretsky . . . on his 85th bir-
thday . . . celebrated with 85
family and friends in the
recreation room at Woodridge
Apartments . . . He and wife
Marge still love to travel and
dance.
RECENT CLOSING of
the 1991-92 season by Jewish
Ensemble Theatre (JET) was
followed by its second annual
raffle . . . Ron Rich had
bought tickets for the whole
family, including the dog, who
probably had the $1,500 first
prize winner . . . Craig Smith
was in the audience when his
$500 ducat was pulled . . . and
Henry Moss got the third
prize of $500 for a lot of baby
food . . . Joyce Blum, member
of the JET board of directors,
bought a ticket for each of six
grandchildren . . . 8-month-
old Henry won his first raffle
. . . He is the son of Kathi and
David Moss.
JET's annual benefit raffle
closes its regular season the
end of each spring . . . It is an
on-going part of the theatre's
efforts to meet the yearly
operating budget . . . Last
show was An Evening of
Schisgal . . . and JET opens
its 1992-93 presentations in
October with Israel Horovitz's
play, Today I Am A Fountain
Pen.
PICKLE BARREL Deli,
on 12 Mile and Evergreen in

the Evergreen Plaza, has
gone a giant step further in
its healthway scheme of din-
ing things . . . Going over big
is Al Winkler's new raw juice
bar with carrot juice, orange
juice, apple juice and health
cocktail of orange and carrot
juice, fresh banana, fresh
strawberries and honey.
HE STOOD IN the drive-
way outside Tam O'Shanter
Country CLub waiting for his
car and someone said, "He'd
better watch out or he'll get
hit."
Heck, in his prime you
couldn't hit Bob Feller with a
telephone pole . . . The base-
ball Hall of Famer and former
Cleveland Indians ace was
one of the guests at the se-
cond annual Michigan Jewish
Sports Hall of-Fame offering
of the Hank Greenberg
Memorial Invitational golf
and tennis outing.
A lot of "near miss" stories
by the golfers and "just out of
my reach" tales from the net-
ters . . . Hank Greenberg
would have loved the event
. . . a true showing of
brotherhood . . . No
weathermen . . . they pro-
bably were hiding their faces
after some calling for a
dismal day . . . At the dinner,
emcee Dick Schaap, ABC's
"World News Tonight" and
ESPN sportscaster, had the
crowded room laughing with,
"Ron Kramer gave me. a wet
kiss and he isn't even
Jewish!"
Hard worker Max Sheldon
passed out applications for
folks to compete in the team
qualifying tennis tryouts,
Sept. 18-20, for U.S. represen-
tation at the 14th annual
Maccabia Games in Israel,
June 26-July 16, 1993 .. .
Call Max at 553-2770 or Al
Gross, 661-2300.
Alan Schecter, former presi-
dent of the Iowa Daily Sports-
writers Association and
member of the MJSHF Board
of Governors, is proud of the
way daughter Wendy Sue
Schecter dressed the New
York Knicks basketball team
in 1991 as its designer stylist
. . . After all, with dapper Pat
Riley there now as coach, they
better look good on the court
. . . She is the granddaughter
of the late Myron "Suzie"
Schecter, 1987 inductee in the
Michigan Jewish Sports Hall
of Fame.
THEY WAITED UNTIL
now to announce the 1991
Senior Player Of The Year .. .
and the honor by South-
eastern Michigan Tennis
Association went to localite
Frank Winton who at 77
years old never looked better
as he and wife Flo recently
celebrated their 50th anniver-
sary. 0
