JEWISH SUPPORT SERVICES
FOR ADULTS WITH MENTAL ILLNESS
FACT:

FACT:
Adults with mental illness are often told they do not have a place in
the work world.
Since 1990, through a partnership with Jewish Vocational Service
and Michigan Rehabilitation Services, Kadima has placed 28
Jewish adults with mental illness into our Supported Employment
Program whereby they received vocational counseling and se-
cured and maintained jobs.
For this population, maintaining a job gives an adult with mental illness
a sense of being "normal," a feeling taken away as a result of being ill.
By working in various jobs such as sales clerk, grocery clerk,
nursery school aide and volunteering at Yad Ezra and other non-
profit agencies, the individuals who have participated in Kadima's
Supported Employment Program have proven to be productive
and valuable members of our community.
Without your support, the quality of life for Jewish adults with
mental illness will be diminished as a part of their recovery is taken
away.
The Seminary honorees are Manuel Feldman, Sarah Laker, Louis
Klein, Betty Kahn, D. Dan Kahn, Anaruth Bernard and Henri
Bernard.
Kadima needs to continue to rescue the dream of a "normal" life. Through your
support, Jewish adults with mental illness will have the opportunity to be re-
integrated into our community. Support Kadima at our 1992 Gala
