BBYO Region Groups

Elect New Officers

Jeffrey Gell of Kishon AZA
and Amy Jablin of Shira BBG
were installed as presidents of
the Great Lakes AZA and
BBG Councils respectively at
the annual BBYO Installa-
tion and Awards Night.
Jeffrey has been a member
of Kishon AZA for three years
and served last year as Coun-
cil 1st Vice-President (Pro-
gramming). He previously
served as chapter president.
This fall he will enter 12th
grade at Detroit Country Day
School.
Amy has been a member of
Shira BBG for three years
and served last year as Coun-
cil 2nd 'vice president. This
fall she will enter 12th grade
at North Farmington High
School.
Also installed were Josh
Berris, Danny Newman, Josh
Lichtman, vice presidents;
Evan Shapiro, treasurer;
Michael Schonberg, secre-
tary; Jeff Lawson, reporter;
and Marc Goldberg,
counselor.
BBG Council officers are
Lisa Zaks, Emilee Grey, Jen-
nifer _ Franklin, vice
presidents; Jill Rosenfeld,
treasurer; Lori Schram,
secretary; Mara Reinstein,
reporter; and Lisa Goren,
counselor.
Kishon AZA and Shira
BBG were recipients of the
AZA and BBG Outstanding
Chapter Awards. Hart AZA
earned recognition as the
Most Improved AZA Chapter,
while Zahav BBG earned the
honor for BBG for the seond
consecutive year.
Kishon AZA won the Inter-
national Service Fund award
for the Most Donated for
AZA, while Shira BBG won
the award for BBG. Jolson
AZA won the ISF award for
the Most Donated Per Capita
for AZA, while Shoshanna
BBG won the award for BBG.

Jeff Cousens of Samson
AZA and Josh Rycus of Jolson
AZA tied as recipients of the
AZA Minutes Incentive
Award, while Mindy Cherney
of Achayot BBG won the
honor for BBG. The Chai
Club, for 18 hours of com-
munity service, was
presented to Hart AZA, while
the Mitzvah Club Award, for
20 hours of community ser-
vice, was presented to Zahav
BBG.
The AZA Council presented
its Most Outstanding
Chapter President Award to
Seth Tompkins of Hart AZA
and its Rookie-of-the-Year
Award to David Malley of
Jolson AZA. The BBG Coun-
