46th donor luncheon on April
7 at Adat Shalom Synagogue
with guest speaker Linda
Pattillo, ABC world news cor-
respondent. Ms. Pattillo
spoke of her experiences as a
female reporter during the
Gulf War and enlightened
the 200 patrons. Ms. Pattillo
is now covering the presi-
dential campaign of Jerry
Brown. Some of the patrons
included: president Sharon
Daitch, chairman Linda
Sahn, Leila Eidelman,
Janice Berkower,
Dorothy Eichenhorn,
Evelyn Sahn, Ruth
Leibowitz, Lil Finkelstein
and Sue Kerwin.

Akiva Hebrew Day School
recently presented Judge
Hilda R. Gage with its
Ayshet Chayil Woman of
Valor Award at the 28th an-
niversary banquet at Con-
gregation Shaarey Zedek.
More than 600 patrons at-
tended the event with guest
speaker William A.
Brown, former U.S. ambas-
sador to Israel. Attorney
Eugene Lumberg was the
master of ceremonies.

The fourth annual City of
Hope Aerobics Against
AIDS included fitness ex-
perts from across the coun-
try and local fitness profes-
sional and honorary chair-
man Gail Mondry. Ms.
Mondry raised $2,300 for the
event, while Andrea Bern-
stein and Helaine Keller
of the Fitnesse Exercise
Company turned in more
than $5,000 from members.
