JPM Seniors
Events Set

Door to Door Transporta-
tion to the Oak Park Jewish
Community Center is offered
to senior adults. This service
is provided through the
cooperative efforts of the
Jewish Community Center,
the Jewish Information Ser-
vice, the Jewish Welfare
Federation and Jerome Glass-
man.
Pick-up is scheduled for the
following areas: Monday —
Southfield and Detroit;
Wednesday — Northwest
Detroit, Oak Park, Royal
Oak, Southfield and Berkley;
Thursday — Oak Park and
Southfield; Friday — Oak
Park, Royal Oak, and
Berkley.
Passengers are picked up at
their homes beginning at 9:30
a.m. and return from the
Center at 3 p.m. A donation
of $1 for the round trip is
suggested.
To initiate service, contact
the Jewish Information Ser-
vice, 967-4357.
In order to accommodate
the transportation needs of
older adult apartment
dwellers, the Jewish Com-
munity Center offers an
apartment shuttle to persons
living within a mile of the
Jimmy Prentis Morris
building. The shuttle brings
seniors to the JPM building
each weekday at approx-
imately 9:30 a.m. and makes
a return trip at 2:30 p.m.

The Jimmy Prentis Morris
Jewish Community Center
will offer several Sunday
programs.
Bingo, a nosh and prizes
will be available 2 p.m. April
12 in Room 15. There is a
charge.
The Boaz Siegel Sunday
Concert Series will present
Inna Naroditskaya, piano,
and Aleksandr Chernyak,
balalaika, 2 p.m. April 26 in
Jaffe Hall. There is a charge.
"Your Prescription for Hap-
piness," a self-esteem work-
shop, 1:30 p.m. April 13 at
JPM. There is no charge.
The annual Senior Adult
Department Third Seder is
scheduled for noon April 22 at
the JPM building. Cantor
Sidney Resnick will officiate
with Lillian Zellman as his
accompanist.
Tickets are available. A
chicken luncheon will be
served. For information, call
JPM, 967-4030.
Adele Kozadayev and
Galina Feldman will perform
a program of classical music
as well as Russian and Yid-
dish songs as part of the Yid-
dish Culture Club 1 p.m.
April 23 at JPM.
A Low Vision Support
Group will meet on the fourth
Wednesday of each month.
The first meeting will be
12:30-2 p.m. April 29 at JPM.
Transportation is available
from designated areas.
There is a charge. For infor-
mation, call Margo Weitzer,

A new Hearing Loss Sup-
port Group will meet the se-
cond and fourth Friday of
each month 10 a.m.-noon at
JPM. May meetings will take
place on May 1, 8 and 22.

Support Group

The Low Vision Peer Sup-
port Group will offer two
meetings during April. The
Maple-Drake group will
discuss adaptive devices for
daily living such as clocks,
watches, sewing and meal
preparation items 1 p.m.
April 15. Participants are
asked to bring visual aids not
useful to them in order to ex-
change with other group
members. Visual aid cata-
logues will also be available.
The opening meeting of the
group at the Jimmy Prentis
Morris building will take
place 12:30 p.m. April 29.
This group is coordinated by
the Center along with Sinai
Hospital. There is a participa-
tion charge of $1 for members
and $1.50 for non-members.
Transportation is available to
both buildings from
designated areas with an ad-
vance reservation.

Senior Men's Club
Plans Meeting

Southfield Senior Men's
Club will hold their nomina-
tion of officers for 1992-93
term 1 p.m. April 15 at the
Southfield Senior Adult Cen-
ter. The speaker will be Dr.
Everett Rottenberg of the Ar-
thritis Foundation.
