'Gator' To Attend
Baseball Bonanza

Gates Brown, former
Detroit Tigers slugger, will
highlight the Neighborhood
Project's Baseball Bonanza
1-4 p.m. March 29 at the
Jewish Community Center's
Jimmy Prentis Morris
building.
Co-sponsored by the Center
and The Jewish News, the
event will feature baseball
clinics for boys and girls in
grades 1-6 and an opportuni-
ty to buy, sell or trade base-
ball cards. In addition, win-
ners of the baseball trivia con-
test will receive prizes, which
include Tigers' game tickets.
Pre-registration for the
baseball clinic is required and
there is a nominal charge.

Tax Clinics

In an effort to make this
stressful time of year less
"taxing," the Southfield
Public Library will offer free
self-help tax clinics at its
Civic Center and Beech
> Woods locations.
IRS advisors will be on
hand to answer questions and
to aid in filling out forms.
Registration is required for
these free clinics. Dates and
times are: March 17,
6:30-8:30 p.m. (Beech Woods
Reading Center, 22200 Beech
Road, in the Beech Woods
Recreation Center); and
March 14 and April 4, 10
a.m.-noon (Southfield Public
Library, 26000 Evergreen
Road, in the Civic Center).
