The Sholem Aleichem In-
stitute will honor Jewish
Music Month 7:30 p.m. Feb. 9
at Franklin Pointe clubhouse
with "An Evening of Jewish
Music" presented by Shirley
Benyas.
The program will be of Yid-
dish and Sephardic folk
songs, music from the Yiddish
Theater, and Yiddish folk
melodies adapted by classical
and contemporary composers.
Ms. Benyas will be accom-
panied on the piano by David
Wilson.

Museum Hosts
Polish Dancers

Mazowsze, the national
dance troupe of Poland, will
perform Feb. 7 at the Toledo
Museum of Art Peristyle.
More than 100 dancers,
singers and orchestral musi-
cians will present the
program.

Bassett Concerto

the world premiere of
Michigan composer Leslie
Bassett's Concerto for Or-

p.m. Feb. 8 and 3:30 p.m. Feb.
9 at Orchestra Hall. The pro-
gram also will include Hoist's
The Planets and DSO Assis-
tant Principal Cellist Marcy
Chanteaux performing
Haydn's Cello Concerto in C
major.
Leslie Bassett will attend
these performances, speaking
at the pre-concert lecture Feb.
6, and at the pre-concert con-
versation Feb. 7 with Marcy
Chanteaux and Lawrence B.
Johnson.

Ty Cobb Play
At Meadow Brook

The Michigan premiere of
Cobb, Lee Blessing's play,
will open at Meadow Brook
