Concert 3 p.m. April 5 at Tem-
ple Beth El to benefit
UNICEF projects that assist
Latin American street
children in their struggle for
survival.
Flavio Varani, Brazilian
piano virtuoso, accompanied
by the Bloomfield Hills
Lahser High School or-
chestra, conducted by Valarie
Palmieri, Assistant Conduc-
tor of the Birmingham
Bloomfield Symphony, will
perform.
The first Empty Bowl Con-
cert in conjunction with
UNICEF, will feature a pro-
gram of highly rhythmic
Latin American music per-
formed in celebration and on
behalf of the world's children
and youth.
A committee of women from
the Tri-County area, chaired
by Lillian Genser and Jamie
Rabinowitz, is planning an
afterglow reception, in
Handelman Hall, for patrons
and special contributors
following the concert. Several
"Empty Bowls" have been
donated by outstanding
ceramic artists, for a drawing
at the reception.
