Plan Calendar

The Beth Shalom Youth
Department will hold several
January events.
Shoresh, grades 1-2, will
have a Tu B'Shevat party
11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. Jan. 19 at
the synagogue. Children will
play games and do arts and
crafts relating to the holiday.
Yachad, grades 3-5, will go
rollerskating 11:45 a.m. Jan.
12, meeting at the synagogue.
Kadima, grades 6-8, will
have a Sing Down 1:15-3:15
p.m. Jan. 12. Kadima also
will have a swim, gym and
sleepover Jan. 25.
U.S.Y., grades 9-12, will
have a games night
7:30-10:30 p.m. Jan. 11. U.S.Y.

Aleichem Institute on "The
Burden of Memory: The Use
and Abuse of Holocaust
Memorials," 8:30 p.m. Jan. 10
at Franklin Pointe clubhouse.
Professor of history at the
University of Michigan-
Dearborn and author of the
book
Harmony and
Dissonance, Dr. Bolkosky
designed the Holocaust cur-
riculum "Life Unworthy of
Life," which has been
distributed by the U.S. Holo-
caust Commission.

Cong. Bais Chabad
Talmud Class Set

Congregation Bais Chabad
of Farmington Hills will offer
a Daily Daf — "Leaf of
Talmud" class 7-8 p.m.
Sunday-Thursday following
the International Daf Hayomi
project. This project allows lay
people the opportunity to
cover the entire Babylonian
Talmud in seven years.
Minimal background in
Hebrew reading and some ex-
perience with Talmud is
