politan Detroit will present a
class for adults on "The
Development of Jewish Law."
The class will discuss the
Torah, Mishnah, Gemara,
Mishnah Torah, Schulchan
Aruch, and Mishna Breura.
The instructor for this eight-
week course will be Rabbi
Allan Blustein.
The class will take place
11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m. on Sun-
day mornings, Jan. 5, 12, 19,
26; Feb. 2, 9, 23, and March 1
in Room 129 of the Maple-
Drake building. There is a fee.

Mystery Evening

The Adat Shalom Social
Club will present a Murder
Mystery Evening 7:30 p.m.
Jan. 18 at the synagogue.
The theme for the evening
is a "Stockholders Meeting,"
where participants will try to
identify a saboteur before the
company is ruined. The event
has been designed by a profes-
sional theatrical mystery
company.
There is a charge. Cost in-
cludes a buffet, dessert and
prizes.

DebOrah Dwork is a historian with a special interest in children. A professor
at the Yale University Child Study Center, with a cross-appointment in the
Judaic Studies Program, she is the author of the important new book "Children
With A Star."

discussion with four survivors led by Professor Dwork.
