JPM Hosts
Piano Concert

The Boaz Siegel Culture
Fund will present the second
in the Sunday Family Con-
cert series 2 p.m. Nov. 24 at
the Jimmy Prentis Morris
Jewish Community Center. It
will feature pianist Marina
Zarkhin in a recital of the
music of Mozart, Scriabin,
Chopin, Moszkowski, Liszt
and Rachmaninoff.
Marina Zarkhin studied
piano performance and in-
struction at the Leningrad
State Conservatory in her
native Russia. From 1983 to
1989 she performed as a
piano soloist and as an accom-
panist in concerts of the Len-
ingrad State Philharmonic
Society. Ms. Zarkhin also
taught gifted students who
appeared with the Leningrad
State Philharmonic on tour
across the Soviet Union from
1981 to 1989. In addition to
her involvement with the
Leningrad Philharmonic So-
ciety, Ms. Zarkhin also led a
chamber music group in
Leningrad.
Since her arrival in the
United States, Ms. Zarkhin
has performed locally in con-
certs; she is teaching piano at
the Jewish Community
Center and working in the
music department at Mary-
grove College in Detroit.
