Concert Band
Opens Season

The Warren Concert Band
will begin its 1991-92 concert
season 3:30 p.m. Nov. 10 in
the Warren Woods Fine Arts
Auditorium.
Joining the band as
featured soloist will be flutist
Ervin Monroe. As principal
flutist in his 24th year with
the Detroit Symphony Or-
chestra, Mr. Monroe has per-
formed with the Mozarteum
Orchestra, the Chamber Sym-
phony of Philadelphia, the
Royal Ballet, the Royal
Danish Ballet and the
Bolshoi Ballet.

DSO Plans
Southfield Concert

The City of Southfield will
host the Detroit Symphony
Orchestra on its J.L. Hudson
sponsored Metro Concert
Tour 8 p.m. Nov. 13 at the
Southfield Civic Center,
26000 Evergreen Road.
The annual six city tour,
under the baton of DSO asso-
ciate conductor, Leslie B.
Dunner, will present a pro-
gram of music by Mozart,
Aaron Copland, Anton
Dvorak, a salute to George M.
Cohan and the music of jazz
artist, Duke Ellington. In ad-
dition, violinist Jennifer Koh
will perform Tschaikovsky's

Violin Concerto in D major,

Op. 35.

Mr. Dunner is principal
guest conductor of the Dance
Theater of Harlem in New
York City. He has directed
performances throughout the
United States as well as in-
ternational tours to the
Soviet Union, South America,
England, Scotland and the
Salzburg Festival in Austria.

Garden Concerts
