United Way for Southeastern Michigan Concert Band Opens Season The Warren Concert Band will begin its 1991-92 concert season 3:30 p.m. Nov. 10 in the Warren Woods Fine Arts Auditorium. Joining the band as featured soloist will be flutist Ervin Monroe. As principal flutist in his 24th year with the Detroit Symphony Or- chestra, Mr. Monroe has per- formed with the Mozarteum Orchestra, the Chamber Sym- phony of Philadelphia, the Royal Ballet, the Royal Danish Ballet and the Bolshoi Ballet. Hudson sponsored Metro Concert Tour 8 p.m. Nov. 13 at the Southfield Civic Center, 26000 Evergreen Road. The annual six city tour, under the baton of DSO asso- ciate conductor, Leslie B. Dunner, will present a pro- gram of music by Mozart, Aaron Copland, Anton Dvorak, a salute to George M. Cohan and the music of jazz artist, Duke Ellington. In ad- dition, violinist Jennifer Koh will perform Tschaikovsky's Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 35. Mr. Dunner is principal guest conductor of the Dance Theater of Harlem in New York City. He has directed performances throughout the United States as well as in- ternational tours to the Soviet Union, South America, England, Scotland and the Salzburg Festival in Austria.
