Nira Lev
Named Director

Nira Lev has been ap-
pointed to the position of
director of the newly created
Hebrew Learning Center and
director of the Hebrew
Department of the Communi-
ty Jewish High School.
Ms. Lev received her
bachelor's degree in English
language and literature and
in Arabic language and
literature from the Hebrew
University of Jerusalem, with
a certification as a high
school teacher specializing in
teaching language and
literature. Ms. Lev holds a
master's degree in English
language and literature from
the Hebrew University of
Jerusalem and a master's in
educational research and cur-
riculum contruction from Tel
Aviv University.
She was one of three
teachers selected nationally
to participate in the Ad-
ministrator Training Pro-
gram at New York Universi-
ty, sponsored by the Jewish
Educational Service of North
America.
Ms. Lev writes the Hebrew
column "Hava Nedaber Ivrit"
in the Detroit Jewish News.

Ride The Rails

The opening event of the
/— Temple Beth El Brotherhood
calendar year will be a ride
on the Coe Rail, a vintage
train departing from Walled
Lake, 6:30 p.m. Oct. 21.
The train will traverse
federally protected sanc-
tuaries and wetlands giving
riders an opportunity to ex-
) perience travel of an earlier
era, learn the history of the
former Grand Trunk Western
rail line dating from 1883 and
view the color change. Follow-
