COUNSELING

SERVICES TO THE AGING

• Total number of cases served in
1990 was 3,643. One case may
signify an individual or a family (2
or more clients).

• Total number of cases serving the
aged and their families in 1990 was
1,903.

• 360 clients received financial
assistance. 27 clients received rent
subsidy and assistance with housing
relocation.

VOLUNTEERS

• 21,750 volunteer hours of service to
clients were provided by 209
volunteers involved in programs
such as Friendly Visitors, Office
Staff, Grocery Shoppers, Special
Friends, ResettleMent Service
Warehouse, Conversational English
Tutors and other services.

• 56,803 hours of Homecare Services
were provided to 391 clients, by
our trained Homecare staff

• 8,816 hours of In-home Respite
Care Service was provided to 90
clients, to relieve the caregiver of a
seriously ill or disabled family
member.

• 23 aged men and women reside in
seven apartments in the Group
Apartment for the Elderly
Program.

• 204 aged men and women were
serviced with kosher meals by the
Meals-On-Wheels Program. Jewish
Family. Service (in cooperation with
National Council of Jewish Women
and Federation Apartments) pro-
vide two hot meals, five days a
week.
