JNF Women
Plan Rally

The Women of Jewish Na-
tional Fund will hold their
1991 Pre-Donor Pep Rally
noon Oct. 15 at Temple
Emanu-El.
This will be the prelude to
the Women's 62nd Annual
Donor Luncheon scheduled
for Nov. 19 at Congregation
Shaarey Zedek. At that time,
the women hope to complete
their commitment to develop
a major recreation project in
the Lahav Forest in the
Negev to include a series of
recreation sites, hiking trails
and observation points at a
cost of $250,000.
The speaker at the pre-
donor rally will be Laurie
Nosanchuk Blum, assistant
executive director of the JNF
Council of Michigan. Mrs.
Blum also will present the
most recent film on Operation
Promised Land, the JNF's
campaign to reclaim and
prepare land in Israel for
home sites, schools, hospitals
and recreation areas for the
absorption of Jewish immi-
grants.

Detroit Chapter
Hears Concert

Detroit Chapter of B'nai
B'rith Women will hear
Kathy Schwartz, organist and
teacher of Evola Organ, play
a concert with a demonstra-
tion of the functions and
range of an organ noon Oct.
17 at Sutton Place clubhouse.
Lunch will be served. For

B'nai David
Holds Meeting

B'nai David Sisterhood will
hold its opening meeting
noon Oct. 21 at the
synagogue. Lunch will be
served followed by bingo for
prizes.

The Woman's Auxiliary of
the United Hebrew Schools
will hold its annual luncheon
and musical matinee 12:15
p.m. Oct. 30 at the Agency for
Jewish Education Building,
Southfield. Performing will
be Miriam and Gabriel
Bolkosky.
Miriam Bolkosky, a senior
at University of Michigan's
School of Music, will receive
a degree in cello. She began
playing the cello at age 4 and
has performed at Kennedy
Center and Carnegie Hall.
She has soloed with several
orchestras, including three
times with the Detroit Sym-
phony. Miriam is a member of
the Cassini Ensemble in Ann
Arbor.
Gabriel Bolkosky, a
freshman at the University of
Michigan School of Music,
has been playing the violin
for 14 years. He has won
awards from the Music Study
Club of Metropolitan Detroit,
the National Music Camp at
Interlochen, and the
Michigan Federation of Music
Clubs. At age 13 he perform-
ed with the Detroit Sym-
phony Orchestra and has
soloed twice with the Detroit
Symphony Civic Orchestra.
There is a charge for lunch.

BBW Chapter
Plans Meeting

The Detroit Business and
Professional/Pisgah Chapter
of B'nai B'rith Women will
hold a meeting noon Oct. 20
at the Whitehall clubhouse.

meeting and entertainment.
Singer Galina Feldman and
pianist Adel Kozadayev will
perform.
