of their freshness.
All three rooms have been
remodeled four times, but the
look has never been changed
. . . only their fresh ap-
pearance . . . Four years ago,
Gary and Jack put in two
large smoke-eaters that keep
the restaurant air crystal
clear . . . One of the large
units is in the middle dining
room where smoking is per-
mitted and the other in the
bar area.
Beau Jack's is big on health
items . . . and eight years ago
was the first restaurant in
Michigan to start the
Creative Cuisine Program
sponsored by the American
Heart Association . . . Since
then it has received
numerous commendations
and plaques from health in-
stitutions . . . Three years ago
at the National Restaurant
Association show in Chicago,
it was given The Healthy Din-
ing Award by the Sweet 'N
Low Corp.
You see outside an English

but not too many restaurants
who can boast this trait .. .

The traditional way of get-
ting engaged is an old-hat
sort of thing for attorney Ron-
nie Rader . . . He likes the
novel way of doing things .. .
and so, at Marvin's Marvelous
Museum recently, had a sur-
prise cake waiting for Debbie
Adelson with the inscription,
"I Love You, Debbie. Will You
Marry Me? Ron" . . . Debbie
said an immediate yes to

An Englishman was visit-
ing New York for the first
time . . . hired a guide to show
him around the city, but
didn't know he was Jewish
. . . As they walked through
the lower east side, the
Englishman suddenly ex-
claimed, as he examined the
store windows, "My word!
Where do all the Cohens
come from?" . . . His guide
smiled mischievously and
pointed to a large brick
building on the other side of
the street . . . Across the front
of the building was a huge
sign, "Cohen Manufacturing
Company."
Serious matter on the
restaurant scene today is that
of good restaurateurs being
made to suffer because of the
ineptness and poor manage-
ment of those who shouldn't
be in the business, causing a
lot of folks to shy away from
restaurants .
