is the kick-off event for "JCC
Month," for the Jewish Com-
munity Center of Washtenaw
County. Other events are a
Catskill Night Sept. 28, a
family fun day Sept. 29, a
square dance party Oct. 12, a
teen dance party Oct. 19.
There is an admission
charge to Apples and Honey.

Apples and Honey and Lots,
Lots More, a community
event that highlights the
High Holiday season will be
Sept. 15 at the Maple-Drake
Jewish Community Center.
The program will open at
noon for families with special
needs. The general public is
welcome at 1 p.m.
This year a family walking
program called "Hand in
Hand — A Walk A While Pro-
gram" will be launched.
Families signing up for the
five mile walking commit-
ment will get a special prize.
In addition, information on
CPR, donating blood, and the
Heimlich maneuver will all
be available.
A special shofar blowing
class will be available for
families who are encouraged
to bring a shofar or buy one
at the event. Families will
receive a tape to accompany
the instruction.
In commemoration of Suk-
kot, juggling instruction also
will be available.
Crafts, • flower arranging,
challah braiding and bee-
keeping will complete the
afternoon along with a perfor-
mance by Ron Coden at 3 p.m.
The event is sponsored by
Jewish Experiences for
Families in conjunction with
area congregations and The
Jewish News. Lunch will be
available for purchase at
Sperber's in the building
cafeteria. There is no admis-
sion charge.

Sets Meeting

Cantor Howard Glantz will
present "Those Were The
Days," a tour through the
Yiddish, Hebrew and English
repertoire of Jewish music, at
the September meeting of
CHaZaKaH, the Adat Shalom
seniors group 12:30 p.m.,
Sept. 26 at the synagogue.
Rochelle Lupovitch will pro-
vide piano accmpaniment.
Seniors will begin the after-
noon with bagels, dessert and
coffee. There is a charge.
