ast week, Detroit's
Maccabi teams
ventured across the
country in search of gold. They
found it, both in Cleveland and
Wayne, New Jersey, where
local Jewish Community
Centers sponsored regional
Maccabi Games. But
competition wasn't the only
thing that mattered to these
youthful athletes. They visited
Cleveland's Sea World and
danced the night away at a
social. A quick scan of the
medal winners suggests that,
despite all the fun, Detroit's
athletes also came to win.
