Manny Charach summed
up the emotions of the eve-
ning when he said, "It is our
wish that this gallery will
serve as an inspiration to
all."

SPIRITUAL ADOPTION
The Greater Detroit Coun-
cil of Na'amat USA last
week held a spiritual adop-
tion luncheon at Congrega-
tion Beth Achim. Through
spiritual adoptions, Na'amat
provides care and support for
mothers and children in
Israel.
Honored at the luncheon
were Channel 7 anchor
Doris Biscoe, Jewish
Community Council outgo-
ing president Paul D.
Borman, and Jeannie
Wiener, incoming president
of the Council. Longtime
Na'amat supporter Ida
Gornbein also was cited at
the program.
Na'amat Council Presi-
dent Evelyn Noveck and
luncheon chairman Renee
Shuster delivered
greetings. Among those in
the crowd were Blanche
Rose, Emma Schaver and
Ruth Miller.

ORT DONOR DAY
The annual donor lun-
cheon for Michigan Region,
Women's American ORT,
will be held Aug. 14 at the
home of Mala Dorfman,
with musical entertainment
by flutist Kim Rosner. 0

The city of Netanya was
named after Nathan Straus,
the U.S. ambassador to
Turkey, who aided the new
settlement and others in
Palestine.
